Maria Rita Petitti

She graduated in Philosophy at the University Federico II of Naples in 1999.

After graduating she collaborated with various associations and corporations that work in the field of adult education and development. She has also been involved in the organization of cultural and musical events within the Naples region.

In 2007 she attended a Master’s Programme in “Consulenza Filosofica” at the University Federico II of Naples.

In 2009 she attended a “Philosophical writing workshop”, sponsored by Graphein, the Italian society of pedagogy, and from then she started her professional development in P4C.

She trained as a Teacher Expert and subsequently as a Teacher Educator in P4C after attending several workshops and activities and completing the specialization courses at the CRIF (Centro di Ricerca per l’Indagine Filosofica) Summer School in Acuto.

From 2011 to 2013 she worked as a tutor and coach on the training course “Il curricolo della Philosophy for Children come progetto educativo. Aspetti teorici e metodologici” taught by Maura Striano at the University of Naples Federico II.

She has been in charge of P4C workshops with primary and secondary school children; she set up a P4C project with the students of the “Accademia di Belle Arti” (the School of Fine Arts) of Naples.

She has also taken part in the project “Vediamo di Muoverci” as a teacher educator training pro-blind volunteers. This workshop was included within the project “Vediamo di Muoverci” and organised by a CoI (Comunity of Inquiry) formed of blind workers and pro-blind volunteers. She worked in the permanent education programme “La nostra voce-laboratorio con i genitori” run by a CoI of mothers from the Scampia district in Naples.

In 2013 she became qualified to teach philosophy and pedagogy in Italian secondary schools.
