Manuela Pitterà

I designed and wrote the EU Project PEACE – Philosophical Enquiry Advancing Cosmopolitan Engagement funded by the EU Program LifeLong Learning – Comenius – Multilateral Projects, and coordinated by the Department of Humanities of the University of Naples Federico II.
In previous years I wrote and/or collaborated in the management of other EU projects such as INSTALL – Innovative Solutions to Acquire Learning to Learn , funded by the EU Program LifeLong Learning – Erasmus – Multilateral Projects.

I am interested in new forms of effective communication and public participation aiming at involving citizens in decisions that affect them (it can entail keeping citizens informed, seeking their opinions, or actively involving them in decision-making).

In fact, I took a Master’s degree in Literature with a thesis in history of the Off Broadway theater, and a post-graduate qualification specializing in Science communication and public engagement, and I have studied Philosophy for Children as a dialogical method of inquiry and co-determination in the democratic system . The majority of European projects that I have managed have enhanced this dimension. Moreover, I have worked in a science centre on projects concerning the organization of both participatory events and science exhibitions, and, in the last years I have focused on the adult learning.
